Just before 7:30 pm on Monday July 5th, 2010 units from the Fourth Battalion were summed to the 6700 block of 8th Street NW in the Petworth section of the city for a reported house fire.

First arriving units reported smoke showing from of a two-story rowhouse, with a report of a working fire on the rear porch of the dwelling with extension into the house.

Firefighters quickly went to work and were able to bring the fire under control within 10 minutes of arriving on the scene.

No one was injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation
