Just before 3 am this morning Monday July 5, 2010, units from the Second Battalion and Rescue Squad 3 along with several EMS units were dispatched to the intersection of 15th & Pennsylvanian Ave SE for a reported accident with a car on fire and people trapped.

Engine 18 arrived on the scene and reported a car on fire with two trapped and a Metro bus into the side of several park cars.

The crew of Engine 18 quickly extinguished the car fire and the crew from Rescue Squad 3 was able to free the two-trapped passages within 10 minutes of arriving on the scene, both victims were transported to a local hospital in serious condition.

Firefighters also located three other injured people on the bus, the driver and two passages; they also were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by MPD.
