Just before 1 am this morning firefighters in the Second Battalion were dispatched to the 200 block of F Street NE for a reported house fire.

First arriving units reported smoke showing from the first floor of a two-story middle of the row rowhouse.

Firefighters enter the dwelling and reported heavy smoke on the first floor with a working fire in the basement area of the house.

With a quick and fast attack firefighters were able to bring the fire under control within 10 minutes with no extension to the upper floors 

There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation
